More Than a Game: Lux Living Group Proudly Sponsors Community Football Event

At Lux Living Group, we spend every day helping customers create beautiful spaces. But every now and then, it’s important to step away from the day job and support something that brings people together.

That’s why we were delighted to sponsor a community football match at the fantastic West Bromwich Albion Academy facilities.

For many of those taking part, it was their first experience of playing an 11-a-side match on a professional academy pitch. It didn’t matter whether someone played every weekend or hadn’t played competitively for years - everyone turned up with the same goal: to enjoy the game, meet new people and be part of a great occasion.

And what a game it turned out to be.

The afternoon had everything. Great goals, plenty of laughs, competitive football and, most importantly, excellent sportsmanship.

The Dartmouth Dodgers came flying out of the blocks and opened up a three-goal lead, looking well on their way to victory. But the Sandwell Steelbacks had other ideas.

Showing real determination and resilience, they battled back and turned the match into a genuine thriller. Every goal seemed to lift the intensity, and by the closing stages nobody could take their eyes off the game.

When the final whistle blew, the Dartmouth Dodgers had edged a brilliant contest 5–4, but the score only tells part of the story. The real success of the day was seeing people enjoy themselves, encourage one another and leave with smiles on their faces.

Days like this remind us why grassroots sport is so important.

A special thank you also goes to West Bromwich Albion for providing such outstanding academy facilities. Playing on a professional-quality pitch made the occasion even more memorable, particularly for those experiencing an 11-a-side match in that environment for the very first time. The quality of the facilities helped create a day that everyone will remember for years to come.

We’d also like to thank the friends and family who came along to support from the sidelines and create such a fantastic atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

Congratulations to the Dartmouth Dodgers on a deserved 5–4 victory, and to the Sandwell Steelbacks for an incredible comeback that made for a thrilling finish.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone for playing the game in the right spirit. The respect, sportsmanship and camaraderie shown throughout the day were exactly what the event was all about.
